Howell is slipping in Dallas’ race.

Dallas’ official camp report says Joe Milton and Sam Howell are neck and neck, yet Milton’s stronger preseason numbers and recent dynasty-manager additions have pushed Howell to the weaker side of the battle. Howell’s last recorded NFL sample was disastrous—24 passing yards and an interception in one 2024 game—and his recent manager activity is heavily negative. He can still win the backup job, so the roster decision remains unresolved, but the current evidence no longer supports paying for his old starter pedigree. He is a deep-superflex hold only if rosters are enormous; otherwise move him before Dallas names Milton, because the market has little cushion.
